Perhaps you want to get away for a few weeks, but don’t want to be constantly tempted by the wrong foods. Maybe you just need a break from work or school. Or you might want to tackle some of the pounds you put on in college. Perhaps you would like some time for yourself, or maybe you don’t have anyone to travel with you. Here you don’t have to spend your time figuring out what to do all day. It’s all easy at Shane Weight Loss Resorts. You will be treated like the adult that you are. We don’t force you to do anything, but hope you’ll make the best of what we have to offer.
We make weight loss easy for you. Everyone is individually served delicious, healthy, portion controlled meals. Our menu is based on what we learned from forty years of experience and was painstakingly designed by a team of professional Registered Dietitian and Food Service experts. We serve regular food – items that you like to eat. This is a plan offering foods that you will continue to eat on your own at home and in restaurants.
Shane Resorts believes what most every main-stream dietitian advises, that the best way – the safest and most long lasting way to lose weight – is by eating appropriate portions and participating in moderate exercise.
We feel that you will enjoy the food and find that the portion sizes, plus two snacks a day, will not leave you craving more food. With every passing day your appetite will diminish and you will become used to eating smaller amounts of servings at each meal.
It’s a simple philosophy, but one that works unlike many fad diets.
Camp Shane, the famous weight loss camp for boys & girls 7 – 17 years old and Young Women 18-25, was founded in 1968. The camp has helped thousands lose weight while enjoying their stay at the camp.
Due to the large number of participants over the age of 18 requesting we run a program in a less rustic setting than at camp, we now offer this Young Adult weight loss program at the Nevele Grande Resort.
By running this program at the Nevele along side the hotels guests, we enjoy very favorable group rates and the use of its outstanding facilities. We have our own, separate dining room and are served meals prepared according to our menu and recipes. At various times we have facilities for our own exclusive use at other times we share them.
Meet Faryn Schwartz, Shane Diet & Lifestyle Resorts’ Program & Fitness Director.
Faryn is a Personal Fitness Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor from Texas. Faryn is passionate about personal fitness – including dance, aerobics, interval walking, strength training, boxing, meditation, and nutrition classes and believes getting fit should be exciting and fun.
Faryn has worked with clients of all ages, including those with health problems, such as obesity (including gastric bypass and lap band), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, and a variety of orthopedic and muscular injuries. She has also assisted in Army preparation and sports/dance specific training and strengthening. Many of her clients have simply wanted to tone and strengthen their bodies.

Philip Skaff, Shane Diet & Lifestyle Resorts’ Nutritional Director.
Philip is passionate about nutrition. He has taught nutrition classes to children, college undergraduates and diabetics. He has a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Colorado State University and is in the final stages of earning a Registered Dietitian certification.
Philip has spent three years overseas working, studying, and traveling abroad and this is where he found his love for foods and the inspiration to study nutrition. “For me, teaching is a two way interactive process. I want to share with you my knowledge and enthusiasm about nutrition, but I also want to learn your interests and concerns. Education should be fun!”
Lauren Schnidman, Shane Diet & Lifestyle Resorts’ Exercise Instructor.
Lauren has a degree in psychology and biology from Washington University and works as a certified personal trainer. Though she has worked with clients of all ages, she feels a particular bond with young adults. Lauren says: “I am extremely passionate about exercise and staying fit. I find my job very rewarding and hope to get the chance to work with you to help you achieve all of your fitness goals and more.”

David Tweedy, Shane Diet & Lifestyle Resorts’ exercise, sports healthy living and listening expert.
David is an Englishmen and an OCR level 2 gym instructor (gym instructor of the year 2007), a certified spinning instructor and he can teach circuit classes (mixture of cardio and weight training), gym machines and free weight training, cycling, hiking, sports nutrition, lifestyles (healthy living) and jogging. He is a good listener and problem solver which he feels is an important attribute when helping people with weight issues.
David says, “I am 5’ 11” and 150lbs (sounds like Lance Armstrong - I wish). However, at one point, I actually went up to 245 lbs, so I know exactly how anyone who is overweight feels and genuinely believe I can really help.”
